Exhibition of painting Open 10 am - 4.30 pm David Hunns, from Whatstandwell, Derbyshire, is a contemporary abstract artist known for colourful evocative mixed-media works that explore memory, landscape, and human presence. His practice combines drawing, painting, and layered textures, creating atmospheric compositions that invite reflection and emotional engagement, often rooted in personal exploration of trying to create harmony from chaos. David Nutt has been turning wood for over a decade, creating functional and decorative pieces that are both beautiful and a pleasure to use. His work includes bowls, vases and candlesticks, each one shaped and finished entirely by hand. David is drawn to unusual timbers and distinctive grain patterns, particularly in exotic hardwoods, carefully selecting each piece of wood for its character. Just as important as appearance is how a piece feels in the hand. Every item is sanded to achieve a silky smooth finish, then treated with natural beeswax to enhance and protect the wood.
