Rachel Purvis and Lorna Cooper

Exhibition of painting and pottery Open 10 am - 4.30 pm We are delighted to welcome back Rachel Purvis, who works in stoneware and enjoys making useful objects – mugs, jugs and bowls – and glazing them with an earthy palette. She makes in her home studio in Tideswell in the Peak District. The making process, the throwing and the turning, she finds deeply meditative. Rachel is also lucky enough to be part of a wood-firing community in Blackwell. When wood ash, flames and a reduction firing are combined, the results can be stunning!
